What does online coaching mean?

Online coaching is a relatively new in the health and fitness industry, but thanks to the incomparable benefits it provides, it is growing very quickly. But what is an online coach? Is it an online personal trainer? Or is it an online nutritionist? Let see what does an online coach actually do, how does it work, and what is in it for you!

A personal trainer helps their clients achieve certain fitness goals, including but not limited to weight loss, strength training, toning, or overall health management through a well worked out training plan.

A personal trainer:

demonstrates exercises to clients|assists clients in exercises to avoid injuries|modifies exercises according to clients’ fitness levels|monitors their clients’ progress

A nutritionist advises clients on nutrition and the effects it may have on an individual. They help clients alter their diet in a variety of ways in order to promote a healthier lifestyle and eating habits.

A nutritionist:

provides direction to clients on healthy living and good nutrition|implements meal plans for clients|develops meals based on dietary restrictions|teach clients about food selection and nutrition principles

Online coaching includes both a personal trainer and a nutritionist duties, alongside with lifestyle counselling. It is a complex service, that provides clients with the most flexible, cost-effective, and imposing way to reach your fitness goals. Online coaching enables clients to work out where and when it’s convenient for them, instead of relying on someone else’s location and availability. The cost of online coaching is the fraction of the costs of in-person fitness training and nutritionist services.

An online coach:

creates customized training plans specifically for you and your goals|gives clients tailor made diet plan with alongside with all the nutrition knowledge needed to develop long lasting, healthier eating and lifestyle habits, so you won’t need a professional forever|provides lifestyle counselling if needed|provides 24h virtual availability, communication, support, motivation in all areas covered

Each coach has their own coaching perspectives and methods, using different platforms and tools to communicate with their clients, providing training and nutrition material through different channels, in different formats, but in the end, it all comes down to the same: instead of having to communicate with two distinct professionals, all the elements of your fitness journey will be synchronized by one person. Online coaching is a two way relationship, that requires a good coach-client linkage. Before you choose your online coach, I would recommend to make sure, that their perspectives align with your personal goals. This also means, that both parties, coach and client have to put in the work. In this scenario, the coach and the client has the same goal: for you to reach your potential, and be the best version of yourself. -Lita
